Painful, yes, but glorious. Haha. It's quite an experience, I would recommend it for everyone, as long as you do a little research about the artist who's going to do it.
The symbol means a few different things. Note that the two sides are mirror images of each other; cool enough to stand alone, but complete seeming when you put them together. For me, this aspect of it represents being a twin. I tried to include waviness/elements of the ocean because so much of the transformation of my mind when I was a teenager happened at the ocean. It's feminine but tough -- like me. Haha. That's basically it. It's solid black because, well, would you expect different from someone whose middle name is Diesel?
